INDOOR POOL
CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

This 50-meter indoor pool, designed by Larkin Aquatics for the Kansas City School District, is used primarily for competition, athletic training, and swimming instruction. The facility includes two 1-meter and two 3-meter springboards, eight racing lanes, and a movable bulkhead. Competition can be held at 25-yard, 25-meter, and 50-meter distances. The pool was designed to enhance competition events by providing more than half of the pool with depths greater than six feet and including a full-width surge tank at each end of the pool.

A built-in air sparger under the springboards provides a teaching aid for the diving team. Other special features include a water observation window, low-voltage underwater lights, underwater speakers, timing system and sodium hypochlorite disinfection.

This project was completed as part of a $23,000,000 project.
