FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER
Algona, Iowa
Algona’s original pool, built in 1928, had several operational deficiencies that prompted the need for a new facility in the South Park area of the city. Because the City of Algona wanted a pool geared toward families, the decision was made to include various water features to promote family recreation, as well as a water therapy area containing seating and water jet sprays.
The aquatic center design, which opened in July 2001, has a single pool layout and consists of a new pool, bathhouse, filter building, and roadway.
