Higginsville Aquatic Center

The Higginsville project began with a Community Needs Assessment to determine the feasibility of a new aquatic facility. A citizen's survey revealed support for a new outdoor aquatic center with an emphasis on leisure activities. Larkin staff facilitated several public meeting to educate the community on options and to gather information for the development of a concept plan. the concept plan was developed based on community input from both the meetings and the survey.
Larkin Aquatics was given the green light to begin construction document development shortly after the passage of a 1/4 cent sales tax in April of 2007. The pool construction was completed in November 2008 for opening in May 2009.
