WALTON PARK FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER
Nevada, Missouri
In 1999, the citizens of Nevada, Missouri passed a 1/2 cent recreation sales tax providing funds for the newly renovated outdoor aquatics facility along with other park projects. The pool was open to the public in June 2004 and continues to provide fun in the sun and excitement for all ages.
After much research by the Larkin Aquatics design team and deliberation by the City, the facility was planned around the desires of the citizens of the community. They wanted areas for the toddlers to play safely, where older children would be able to enjoy doing some recreational activities, and where families could spend quality time together. There are plenty of shade structures that provide a cool place outside of the water to relax and enjoy the fresh air.
The zero-depth entry and shallow areas offer a mix of aqua spray features, a wall seat with a sunshade structure, and adorable sea creature floatables for younger children. Features focusing on entertainment for older children include a drop slide and lily pad walk. For the competitors, the design includes a competition pool with racing lanes.
The City of Nevada is very proud of their aquatic destination...one that will undoubtedly become a favorite for Southwest Missouri travelers.
