BLAISDELL POOL IN GAGE PARK
Topeka, Kansas
Initially, the City’s goal was to renovate the existing Blaisdell Pool located in Gage Park. However, Larkin Aquatics’ evaluation of the existing pool revealed that the integrity of the pool structure did not warrant such a renovation. Based on our evaluations, the City decided to completely replace the pool with a family aquatics center. Larkin Aquatics prepared revenue and expense projections for the City to help them plan a facility that they could afford.
Larkin Aquatics teamed with Slemmons Associates, Architects, P.A., who designed the bathhouse renovations, allowing for more efficient use of bathhouse space in addition to compliance with ADA requirements. The newly constructed facility nearly doubled the water surface area of the pool to more than 21,000 square feet.
